Bruce turned 60. In recognition of this, Eileen and Bruce went on an Alaska cruise with their friends, the Colbys.
Alaska was a big item on both Bruce's and Eileen's bucket lists. Bruce hit the big 6-OH this year and it seemed like the right time to check this one off. Their great friends, the Colbys, also were celebrating the same milestone (one earlier and one later) and they all decided to go as a group. The trip included visits to Anchorage, Seward, Denali, Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, the Yukon, and Vancouver. The photos here are only a small sampling from the almost 500 Bruce snapped.
After a work meeting in New Jersey, Eileen met Bruce in Philadelphia (he went by Amtrak) and they drove to New York to visit her cousin, Andy Bergman. They spent a rather cool April weekend there and enjoyed the immediate area, went to Times Square and saw a play, ate dim sum in Chinatown, and had some great pizza.
Eileen has been a fan of Cirque du Soleil since we saw Quidam in the late 1990's. So when Kurios came to the area, going to the show for Eileen's birthday was a no-brainer.
January saw one of the largest snowfalls in the DC area's history. Dubbed "Snowzilla", I think we may be hard pressed to come up with a new name if we get one larger than this one or "Snowmageddon".
