- SLHS Band - Herndon Competition
- (9 images)
In August, the South Lakes High School Seahawks Marching Band competed in a class AAA event held at Herndon High School. Unfortunately, there are no photos of them actually competing here.
- PMCA Annual Gala
- (15 images)
In 2007, Eileen was invited to a black tie fundraiser held by the Pennsylvania Manufacturing Confectioners Assoc. (PMCA) at the swank and historic Hotel Hershey (guess where?). It was a grand affair with accolades going to her good friend Yvette, who was pretty much credited for keeping things running smoothly there. Like NCA, PMCA is a non-profit organization.
- Jessica's Wedding
- (34 images)
Jessica is Bruce's sister, Linda's, youngest child and last to marry. In September 2007, Linda and her husband Chris put on an extravagant event at the Rough Creek Ranch in Glen Rose, TX, to celebrate the occasion. The photos in this album can't even come close to fully capturing everything, but certainly you can get a taste.
- Annual Reston Holiday Parade
- (51 images)
Small town parades are funny. You can tell they struggle to get whatever and whomever they can to participate. This year we had colonial settlers, the school board chairman, a high school band, ballet dancers, moms pushing strollers, hot rod cars, giant ballons (like the ones in the Macy's parade, but ready to be condemned), and of course Santa Claus. The best parts were the hot rod cars and the South Lakes High School Seahawks Marching Band. That's Andrew holding one end of the banner instead of one end of a pair of drumsticks.
- Rachel Gets Her Wish
- (37 images)
In June, Rachel was granted her "Make A Wish", which will be one catered meal per week for a year. We visited her the weekend of June 29 for the kick-off dinner, which involved several of St. Mary's staff. Rachel slept through the entire thing. In fact, I don't recall her waking up at all that day. But she was alert and happy the next day, so we took her out to California Pizza Kitchen, where she showed her true colors.
- House Painting
- (5 images)
After 8 years living in it, we finally broke down and had most of the first floor and some of the second floor painted. The painter, Antonio Fernandez, was superb. He used a faux technique on our two-story family room and powder room.
- Spring Break

David pays us a visit after just under two semesters at GA Tech. We were glad to see him and sad to see him go back.
- Norfolk in April
- (8 images)
St. Mary's Home for Disabled Children is in Norfolk, VA. We visited Rachel there on Easter weekend (April 6-7). Can you believe it actually snowed?!! Norfolk doesn't get much snow anyway, but in April?? Unfortunately, I didn't get any snow shots in this set. They're mostly of us visiting Rachel.
